Recently MarksvilleandMe was invited to go on a Dino Expedition at Lake Compounce which happens to be an amusement park in Connecticut that we never knew existed, until our visit. We were invited to enter the park before other guests and check out the new Dino Expedition then come back and let our readers know all about it.
My son would have loved this when he was little, he was all about Dino's. Even though he couldn't join us I am lucky to have girls that like Dino's too and were up for the visit.
While you are visiting you just might be lucky enough to pet a baby dino from one of the dino keepers. So cute.
Below you can meet the Dino Characters.
Great photo opps in the hatching dino eggs. Check out my little dino's!
When parents get tired you can have a seat and relax while your children check out the Allosaurus Dig Pit sure to be a hit with Sand loving kids of all ages.
Last but not least the T-rex
We had the VIP Treatment with treats and gifts for the kids which isn't available normally.
They had an beautiful ice sculpture.
Dino bones which were pretzels with marshmallows on the ends then dipped in white chocolate.
Dino feet which were peanut shaped peanut butter cookies dipped in green candy melts with cashews for the claws.
Dino candy coated marshmallows, as well as fruit salad from Watermelon Dino heads.
The kids washed it all down with Swamp Punch which was their favorite treat. My grand daughter was not sure about it but once she tried it she was hooked. This was made with a special cup that has two layers. The first layer is filled with dry ice, then the second layer holds the drink, which results in this bubbly steamy drink. Super awesome thinking of making this with red punch and calling it erupting lava.
Once you have seen the Dino Expedition there is still the rest of Lake Compounce to explore. Check out the map
here. From roller coaster to Bumper Cars and Carousels there is sure to be a favorite for each of your family members.
When you want to cool down you can splish and splash in Crocodile Cove. Don't forget to take a ride on the train for a great scenic tour.

Handicap Friendly
At first my husband didn't join us because of the injury to his leg and then we found out they had
rentals which you can check out
here. Even though it is not listed they have
electric scooters for 50.00 for the day. They even followed us out to our vehicle at the end of our day and brought the scooter back for him so he didn't have to hobble on his cane all the way back to our vehicle.
