No More Rings

I have been looking for a nice set of coasters for quite sometime. In all of the years of being married which is over 25 years we have never owned a set, but being older, having kids, I now realize just how handy these little things are.

I am forever wiping my desk off from rings left from my cocoa, tea, and other drinks, but with a coaster I have had zero rings, except for once when I spilled some out of my cup on accident. I love how these coasters grip the area they are protecting, they don't slip which is great. They have little ridges that collect tiny bits of liquid so it doesn't end up on surface of where it is sitting.

This set had 6 coasters and a holder that keeps them all corralled in between use. I like this set because it goes with my scroll wrought iron kitchen accents.

This coaster set can be found on Amazon.

There's not a whole lot to describe about the product since it is so basic. It is simply a set of coasters used to set drinks on. They're black and made of silicone. They have a very sleek and aesthetic design which gives any room a subtle modern accent.

Happy New Year

Goals for 2016, I never really sat down and did goals for 2015 other than personal goals and I pretty much did them all except for losing weight and even though I read the Bible more I didn't read it nearly as much as I should.

2015 has been one hell of year for us. Even though things were rough we did have good things happen to us such as my husband graduating from college, my third child graduating from college. My mother in law pulling through her operation and finally moving away from their bothersome neighbors.

We have kept a roof over our heads and our children haven't gone to bed hungry. We have each other and our children know we love them unconditionally. They also know we are always here for them and they always have a place in our home.

My blog has more than doubled, no big money but it is still a work in progress, the money has always been a secondary to me just blogging about our family and reviews, so if it comes it would be wonderful, if not then that is fine too.

We were given bad news the other day but hope that 2016 will have something good in store for our family other than the stress we have had for the last 6 months. We always try to see the bright side and for me that has been hard for the first time in my life these last 6 months and even more so with the news we were recently given.

I am the optimistic to my husband pessimistic which evens our marriage our quite well. Now I need him to be the optimistic one until I regain my own optimism.

So I guess what I am looking for in the next year is for us to be able to get back on our feet and that my husband's disability claim goes through so we can pay our bills. I will continue to pray for our children, friends, family, and the world.

Our family wishes peace, love, and good tidings to everyone for 2016.

Happy New Year!

Graham Cracker Eclair Pudding Marksville Style

You will need a box of graham crackers
2 packages for vanilla instant pudding (we used french vanilla)
3 1/2 cups of milk
1 12 oz tub of Cool Whip
1 can of milk chocolate frosting

You will need a 9 by 13 pan, bowl, whisk, and spatula.

Mix 2 packages of vanilla instant pudding with 3 1/2 cups of milk  in bowl with whisk then fold in cool whip with spatula.

While this is setting put a layer of graham crackers in the glass pan. Add half of the pudding mixture, another layer of graham crackers, then the rest of the pudding mixture, then the last layer of graham crackers.

Stick your chocolate frosting in the microwave and in small increments cook until it is pourable. I stir mine before pouring over graham cracker top. After you have spread the chocolate evenly, cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Cut and serve, can be sprinkled with powdered sugar if you like.

Wild Sweet Nibs

Love sweet nibs and these sweet nibs are sweet. Other nibs I have tried in the past were just bitter and unless you mixed them into recipes they weren't that good, but these Nibs are delicious.

I was also sent some wild chocolate that I mixed up with other ingredients for homemade hot chocolate. Yummy!

Sweet Nibs are a great item to add to your baking supplies and while you are at it you can snack on a handful while preparing your recipes.

Wild Foods has a whole bunch of vegan, non GMO, Fair trade items to choose from.

You can find Wild Sweet Nibs here and Wild Chocolate here.
