Hill's Ideal Balance Dog Food Sampling

Recently I was sent a Sample package filled with all kinds products for my Saint Bernard Princess Goliath to try out.
We received :
1 Bag Grain Free Natural Chicken and Potato Recipe Dry Food
1 can of Grain Free Braised Salmon Recipe Wet Food
1 Bag of Soft-baked Naturals with Duck & Pumpkin Treat
1 Coupon booklet with $20 in savings
1 Hill's Ideal Balance Retractable Leash

I had read in many places when starting your dog on a new food you are to mix it with their regular  food and wean them onto the new food.
Since this was just a sampling and we didn't know how things would go we have been mixing a little in her bowls at a time.
Hills Ideal Balance also has this on the side of the bag for reference.
Mind you Princess eats 5 plus cups of food a day.

Above Princess is laying down and kind of snuck over to the bowl to try it. She eventually got up and gobbled the rest down.
Today we put mixed the soft and hard food together and he enjoyed it very much, came running out to me when she was done with her tail wagging, with a big smile on her face.

This is the neat leash they sent to use while walking our Princess.
Sadly it was raining out (you can tell by my daughter Deanna's hair), and Princess lives up to her name she will not go out in the rain to walk.

Also because of her size I don't trust the leash, she is pretty good when you walk her but if someone she doesn't know were to walk up to me or the girls she would pull and I don't think this leash holds up to her size, so we use the leash only inside.

I have to tell you that everyone who know's Princess especially our neighbors knows she does not like dog treats. So when we tried Hills Soft-Baked Naturals with Duck & Pumpkin I thought like everything else we bought for her it would end up at one of our neighbors houses or my husband's mother's house for his sister's dog.

The first time we tried to give it to her she turned her nose up and moved away. I wasn't going to try it again. A few days later we noticed our male kitten who is 6 months old and way bigger then his mother had torn the bag open to get at the treats, so my husband taped the bag shut and put it up out of the cats reach.

I was getting ready to do this blog and my daughter Dennise picked up the bag and called Princess over, gave her one (I was saying he isn't going to eat it), as Princess chomped it down. My daughter gave her another and she chomped it down.
We had Princess do a trick and she took another.
I think we have found a treat she likes.
Before Hills Ideal Balance Treats we were stuck either giving Princess Brewer's Yeast, cheese, or bits of meat for a treat.

Princess was taking the treats from everyone else so I thought I might as well give it a go too.
Sure enough she sat down when told and enjoyed a treat, getting an extra bonus hug and what a good girl from me.

What I like most about Hills Ideal Balance is that it is made in USA Facilities.
If you want to find out which food is best for you dog they have a survey here.
I can't wait to try her on what it said we should try which was

Large Breed Natural Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe Adult - Dry , with their wet food, and treats. They have so many treats I won't know where to start first. Hope Princess enjoys them all.

A wink from Princess to let my readers know that Hills Ideal Balance Grain Free Natural Chicken & Potato Recipe is approved by her.

Cottonell's Summer Clean Care

Love being apart of Crowdtap and Cottonelle's Clean Crew.
MarksvilleandMe presents Cottonell's Summer Clean Care.
As you can see above my box came full of Cottonell Clean Care Toilet Paper and Cottonell  Fresh Care Flushable Cleanding Cloths in a neat dispenser.

I was sent some coupons and Cottonelle fresh Care Flushable Cleansing Cloths Portable packages to hand out to friends. I was given a third which I keep in my car for those just in cast moments which we will get to in a few minutes.

We usually buy one ply toilet paper because of the kids but honestly I love Cottonelle the best.

I keep our Cottonelle Fresh Care Flusable Cloths on the back of our toilet while the Toilet paper is kept in a holder. This package is waiting until it has a turn on the roll dispenser.

I was told to tell you about a day that Cottonelle saved the day. Well my daughter who has blessed me with two grand children but doesn't quite have the diaper bag deal all down yet, forgot yet again to pack wipes, so on a particular hot day when the baby decided to let it all loose (if you get my meaning) I notice there are no wipes in the diaper bag, and our extra stash of wipes is also empty but thankfully I had the Portable Soft Pack of Cottonelle Fresh Care Flushable Cleansing Cloths that I received from Cottonelle and Crowdtap with me.
It sure saved the day making cleaning up my grand baby a breeze and when it was all over I was able to wipe my brow with a nice clean cloth from all of the sweating I was doing, refreshing even myself.

Cottonelle came through for a clean that even works in the Summer on the hottest and messiest of days.

MorningStar Farms More Ways to Eat Smart Party

A big thank you to MorningStar Farms and House Party for a great sampling event hosted by your truly MarksvilleandMe.

The box is here, what is inside?

Awesome! Reuseable grocery bags, hot mitt, Frisbee, coupons, and a apron.

Here is the bonus stuff laid out to see.

Here I am thinking about which burgers to try first.

I just picked up my MorningStar Farms veggie burgers the other day.

We decided on:

Asian Veggie Patties which are sweet & spicy, with hints of chilies, garlic, and ginger.
100 calories a burger and cholesterol free.

Grillers California Turk'y which is a veggie turk'y burger with avocados & tomatoes.
100 calories a burger and also cholesterol free.

Last but not least was the Meiterranean Chickpea which is a veggies style burger made with chickpeas, spinach, and roma tomatoes.
110 calories a burger.

Here is a picture of the boxes. Don't worry about the small size because they are big on taste.

I was very excited to see that they picked up the grill marks from our inside grill.
A really good plus for me is that the clean up was a breeze.
Regular burgers leave a lot of grease to clean up while the MorningStar Farms Veggie Burgers were a quick soapy water wash with no scrubbing needed.

We decided on Veggie Burgers and Salad for dinner.
Above you see our lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, avocado, and feta cheese .
Not pictures were the condiments, dressings, and olives.

Yummy Salad!

My husband the meat and potatoes man traded his double cheeseburger for a doubt veggie burger.
His first veggie burger ever.

He says the MorningStar Farms burgers fell apart to easily, because all of the good stuff that keeps regular burgers together was missing!

He did eat them, but said he wouldn't buy them for the price they want, but if they were on sale and I had coupons then I could buy them again.

Here is my 6 year old having her first veggie burger with cheese and ketchup.
She likes spicy but thought there were a little too spicy.
Daddy finished her burger for her.

While not my first veggie burger I have to say that MorningStar Farms make a good burger.
Sadly I agree with my husband unless they were on sale, and I had a coupon I don't see us buying them too often.

Overall our family enjoyed these and wouldn't mind eatting MorningStar Farms products again, but the price is a bit steep
For our family this was a great no meat meal to go along with our weight loss efforts which you can read about over at Pam's fight to lose weight.
