Great Gift Idea for mulitple people

One of the best things we did this year for Christmas that I would like to share with you was buying an assortment of candles. We got a great deal during the candle deal from Yankee Candle. The best part is that they were all shipped to my home. We still do most of our shopping from home. 

We placed them all on the desk in our living room and each of my children's family chose two scents they would like to take home with them as a gift and the rest we would use throughout the year to come. I think this went over well and I am going to do this again.

I did have a little insight into the scents they liked so I chose around those and then ordered some new to us scents. I loved a few that were chosen so we will be ordering those scents again. I know this is late but an early idea for next year for those who have multiple families to gift to. 

My husband spoiled me

 Way before Christmas even before our anniversary he ordered me a new recliner so that I could sit in the living room with comfort. It took about 8 weeks to get here but came just days before Thanksgiving. He also ordered me new L.L. Bean slippers. My last pair lasted over 20 years and my slippers went missing during one of our moves so he asked which ones I wanted and ordered them for me. Christmas time was coming so I didn't really expect anything much if anything for Christmas. 

My computer has been chugging along like a old decrepit dinosaur hardly ever merging with our internet even with update, rolling it back, emptying cache, getting rid of cookies etc. We tried everything except for resetting to factory settings. I just have so much that we would have to save and his computer just does not have the room to hold my information and his while he could do this. 

I kept just using my computer and having things take twice as long, sites crashing, and my screen blinking. Zoom meeting were no longer working well, and my computer had to be restarted many times to get things accomplished, many times losing what I was working on and having to start all over again from scratch. I ended up scrapping most with frustration. 

Christmas morning came and I sat down and was about to tell the girls to take my computer into the bedroom when I noticed my black computer had turned silver. He had ordered a computer for me after asking me what I needed and he said it had came much earlier then expected so he had time to covertly copy my old computer files and transfer them to my new one. He had been saving money up and spent it on me. 

I wondered how he got it past me and he said it actually came one day when I was taking a nap so he didn't have to do anything too much out of the way. With the prices of computers going sky rocket he was waiting for a sale and ended up buying one right from HP themselves and was able to find exactly what I needed at a much lower price then others were asking for computers with less capabilities. 

I feel both loved and blessed for the gifts he bought me. Now I can breeze through sites, responding and posting things with little effort. Life is so much easier and to think I have only had my computer in my hands for a little over 24 hours. Now I can post more often and get back to reviewing products without fighting to get things posted.

Making Ornaments

Every year we add a few more decorations to the tree, as well as buying a decoration for each child to add to their own set that they will have when they move out on their own someday. 

Some of the older children have already taken their ornaments with them and are already adding to theirs each year on their own. I hope they will continue the tradition with their own children.

This year the girls made ornaments down at the Library and we have a set to make here at home. I am going to sit down and make this Nutcracker Guard. This particular ornament reminds me of my oldest and first born who fell in love with the nutcracker over 26 years ago. I can't wait to see what it looks like on our tree.

I love that this set comes with almost everything you need to make this nutcracker ornament. You will need to just use just a bit of glue to adhere the mustache and beard to the nutcracker as well as a piece of ribbon to thread through the eyelet on the top of hat so you can hang it your tree or in a window. Gift idea for the breastfeeding Mom

Having breastfed 5 children of my own, while encouraging others to try before giving up. I am pro breastfeeding. I do understand that some can not do it for obvious reasons such as taking medication, can't product milk, etc. I also understand those who could breastfeed before and not with their second or vice versa.

I would have loved this electric pump back in the day. I had a hand pump which was hard to use. This one is electric, can do two breasts at a time. Talk about time saving. It also has a massage function. Oh My Goodness. Where was this when I needed it.

There is a big difference from a child suckling and a machine pumping milk, but the massage function makes it more bearable. This is great for new moms, seasoned moms, and those who continue to keep their milk production up to donate their milk to babies in need.

Word Rush

Recently our family was able to try out a new board game from Tactic called Word Rush. I thought it was going to be too hard for my 10 year old to play with us but it was much easier then I expected. After setting up the board as instructed, the first player flips over the sand timer as well as a category card and answers the card with one of the letters showing on the board. It has to be the first letter and has to fit the category. Once they are done they flip the timer over and set it on the letter they used and the next person tries to beat the first players time. If they don't they move ahead one spot on the game board. 

The last person to NOT reach OUT is the Winner. This game is recommended from 2-6 players, ages 8 and up and considered a family game, which is right up our alley. Lots of fun for family or a fun game night with friends.

Glass Painting Ideas

When our family thinks of Holidays we also think of arts and crafts we can do each year. This year we want to dabble a bit into glass painting which we can all do. I want to do clear glass ornaments, Glass Picture Frames, and cups this year. Keep a look out for that blog in the next few weeks.
