My Penguin Friend

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Review Wire Media for Roadside Attractions.

Only in Theaters August 16th, 2024

When I saw the trailer for this months ago I knew I needed to see it. A great family film that most people will enjoy. My daughter's favorite animal is the Penguin so I know she will enjoy this as much if not more than myself. I am lucky to be able to work with this company and spread the word about a great film that will grab the hearts of many.

I won't lie I cried a few times during this film. It is always amazing how much an animal can move your emotions. It is such a great movie, with great storytelling, and the best part it is based on a true story that I find both amazing and wonderful. My Penguin Friend is the best family movie I have seen this year.

 About My Penguin Friend:

(International star Jean Reno) has turned away from the world in the wake of tragedy. But when he discovers a penguin drifting alone in the ocean, drenched in oil from a spill, his first instinct is to help. To his wife's (Oscar nominee Adriana Barraza) dismay, he rescues the sea creature and takes the flightless bird under his wing. For the first time in years, João starts to feel joy, even if he cannot fathom just how unbreakable a bond is being formed. When the penguin suddenly disappears back into the immense wilds of the ocean, João believes it is impossible that he will ever see his friend again. But thousands of miles away, the penguin is caught in misadventures, determined to use his unique GPS-like powers to find his way back to the place he now considers home. Based on an emotional true story that riveted the world and filmed on the spectacular coasts of Brazil and Argentina, My Penguin Friend is a tale that traverses the magic of the ocean, the beauty of nature, and the transformative power of love.

Making Babies

I was recently able to view Making Babies thanks to Huber Bros. Productions so that I could give my honest opinion of the movie. Both my husband and myself are avid movie viewers. We loved them growing up, our first date was at a movie theater, our children grew up going to movie theaters as a family, and us for date nights, we even worked for a movie theater before, we enjoy seeing movies as often as we can, we even quote movie scenes in daily life when they fit the part.

I viewed this movie on my own and I went through a roller coaster of emotions. It could be my age I happen to be 46 going on 47 but I hit happiness, hope, joy, sadness, excitement, and utter amusement to name a few. This movie deals with real issues of struggling to have a baby before your time runs out and making choices with health insurance, finances, dreams, all while family, friends, and everyone in between is giving you advice on how to do it.

There is humor. I didn't find it gut breaking humor but it is there in a sweet way and sometimes strange way at least to me. I encourage those who are struggling to have a baby to watch this movie as well as those who aren't struggling so they know the other side and what their friends, neighbors, and not so good friends might be going through.

Coming from someone who had an easy time having children it really opened my eyes and I hope it will for you too. It isn't always easy to have children. Sometimes it is a struggle from the very beginning, but can be so worth it.

Is it a chick flick? Yes I guess it is, but if you are trying to get pregnant it is also a couples flick, so fellas give it a chance. By the way you would want to miss the funny scenes with guys in it anyways so go along just for that if not for anything else. See ladies I had you covered. wink wink So I hope you enjoy it as much as I did check out the trailer below and let me know what you think.

Distribution Company: Huber Bros. Productions
In Theaters: March 29th

the late Glenne Headly

Katie and John Kelly (Eliza Coupe and Steve Howey) are ready to settle down and have kids but
five years later, all they have to show for their efforts is a mountain of negative pregnancy tests
and an increasingly elaborate home micro-brewing rig, which John hopes will launch his
company.  As they run out of traditional options and their window closing, the couple explores
the daunting world of medical, spiritual, and homeopathic methods to conceive a child. With an
ensemble cast that also includes Bob Stephenson, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Ed Begley Jr., Jon Daly,
and the late Glenne Headly, MAKING BABIES puts a couple through the ringer of modern
infertility treatments and questions whether their marriage will withstand the ultimate test.

DreamWorks Animation Television Creates Two New Series for Amazon Prime Video

The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle

and
Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny
to debut this year
on
Amazon Prime Video

As a child growing up in the 70's this was one of my favorite show to watch with my father. Rocky and Bullwinkle was something that was always taking me on adventures, not to mention the little bits of learning thrown in. I am super excited to see what Amazon Prime Video will do with it. I hope they keep it true to the original for the older folks with a little updated stuff for the younger crowd.

The world-famous talking moose and flying squirrel are back in The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle, a serialized comedy about two goofball best friends who routinely find themselves thrust into harrowing situations but end up saving the day time and again. As Rocky and Bullwinkle's innocent and silly ambitions to become rock stars or find lost treasure end up dovetailing with Fearless Leader's sinister plans to take over the world, our heroes are set on a collision course with his notorious super spies Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale.

The series is executive produced by Scott Fellows (The Fairly OddParents, Big Time Rush) and Tiffany Ward, daughter of the original series producer Jay Ward, and features Tara Strong (The Powerpuff Girls, Teen Titans Go!)  as the voice of Rocket J. Squirrel, Brad Norman (America’s Most Haunted) as Bullwinkle J. Moose, Ben Diskin (Hey Arnold!) as Boris Badenov, Rachel Butera (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) as Natasha Fatale, Piotr Michael (Impress Me, MADtv) as Fearless Leader and Daran Norris (The Fairly OddParents) as Narrator.

Later in 2018, Prime Video will premiere Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny, an epic adventure series from Emmy Award-winning executive producers Mitch Watson (All Hail King Julien) and Elliott Owen (All Hail King Julien), and Lane Lueras (The Adventures of Puss in Boots). When four panda kids stumble upon a mystical cave beneath Panda Village, accidentally absorbing the chi of ancient and powerful kung fu warriors known as the Four Constellations, they must realize a destiny to save the world from an evil force. Meanwhile, Po finds himself faced with his biggest challenge yet -- teaching this ragtag band of kids how to wield their newfound powers.
