While preparing food it is always a good idea to have a cutting board for a few reasons. First of all it protects your table, or counter from damage, and second it makes for a far easier during clean up time. I like that I can use both sides. I use the second for putting out a cheese spread for get togethers.

Woobamboo

This is my first bamboo toothbrush. There really is nothing different about the use or results of this toothbrush other then being better for our earth. As in it will break down faster then a plastic toothbrush. This I like. Our family tries to be a eco friendly as possible, so why not try a new toothbrush that isn't any more expensive then other toothbrushes but is more eco friendly.

Most of the time I use an electronic toothbrush but I do usually have a manual toothbrush around for myself just in case, like in our downstairs bathroom for quick tooth brushings before running out the door.

I am in Love with my Pillow

As you can see my kitties tried to claim my new Original Bamboo Shredded Memory Foam Pillow, but my kitties lost out to mommy, but they can use it when I am not sleeping on it myself. I love this pillow. First of all it comes rolled up, is much heavier than regular pillows, and comes with a cover that you can remove simply by unzipping then throwing in the wash.

The pillow does come rolled up tightly, be careful how you unwrap it because we did knick ours a bit so the cover has a tiny hole in it. Lay it flat and watch the magic as it turns from a roll into a fluffy pillow.

I have to warn you the pillow under the cover is not pretty, but once you lay your head on this pillow you won't mind what it looks like. I had a great nights rest and wouldn't mind getting more of these pillows for our whole bed. It was wonderful and I didn't have to re fluff my pillow at all during the night. I conformed to my head perfectly.

Bamboo Washcloths

Bamboo washcloths, yes bamboo. I would have never thought of bamboo being used for clothing, washcloths, towels, bedding. I always think of the hard bamboo poles or the bamboo plants, but boy are there bamboo washcloths great.

Much softer then I thought, but have grip for washing your body, face, etc. We put these away for our bathroom, sorry kids but these are for mommy and daddy. We deserve a little luxury from time to time.

Bamboo Cutting Boards

I grew up with wooden cutting boards but I have to say I really like the bamboo cutting boards the best, they don't warp, they look fantastic in my kitchen or when they are used for entertaining, and they clean up in a snap.

Although I don't use my bamboo cutting boards for meat, that is reserved for my glass cutting boards only. I do like that the Pratico Goods cutting board has a recessed area to catch juices from fruit which makes cleaning up my counters a snap too.

We are a big family so I really enjoy the larger cutting boards like this but still have enough room in my life for smaller cutting boards as well. This cutting board comes in two sizes, mine is the larger size. At 18 x 12 x 3/4 in I find this the perfect size.

My kitchen was in need of a new cutting board so we have been looking around and luckily I was given the chance to try out one of Alton Bay Bamboo's cutting boards.

The first time we used it we tried out Prickly Pears with our family on it. This has a nice surface, both sides can be used, and has a recessed edge so that juices go in the recess instead of all over your counter or table.

I love that this is a large cutting board having a big family a small cutting board just does not do the the job. We find ourselves having to clear the cutting board over and over again before everything is prepared. Not with this cutting board it held everything we needed it too. We use a glass cutting board for meat so this cutting board only sees fruits and vegetables.

Having another Baby

Years ago before we had the internet all I could find for nursing pads were disposable pads that stuck to the nipples and caused more pain then good. With my third child was born we were able to find a set but they were so expensive we only got one set of 4, which I had to wash and dry every day so I could use them on a regular basis. Skip ahead a few years and you can find them on the internet for sale in lots of places, still not so much in brick and mortar stores but on the internet there are lots to choose from.

I look for comfort first which these have, washable, reusable, etc. These hit all of my wants, actually I was very surprised with just how soft these were even after washing. Personally I am 43 having had 5 live births, a miscarriage, and taking care of other peoples children for years, and we always said we would be the parents who were 45 and pregnant. 

Let's just say we are highly thinking of taking the plunge to have another child. So keep your eyes openend you never know when another little one will pop up here in Marksville.
