Really up until now we have just had a shovel to garden with along with our hands. My father had all of the neat tools, and I am sure if he were still alive I would be able to use all of them, but alas he is not, and his tools were long gone before I decided to garden, so here I am the third year into gardening.
I know have a ratchet pruner, the said shovel, and now this really nice Hand Trowel from LifeWell. I also have a garden knife which is quite nice too.
This year we still used just the shovel because the tools I did get came after we had already planted. Next year I hope to have a few more pieces to make my gardening easier.
With Fibromyalgia I need all of the help I can get to stay on top of my garden and planting. Thankfully I have a great teenage daughter who loves to garden, she has been a Godsend. I love how the handle and trowel are strong and sturdy.
Even though we have not owned a trowel before I have looked and to be honest I was't impressed, most would bend with a little pressure from your hands, I had no idea how they would stand up to hitting a rock, or breaking up rough ground. With the LifeWell hand trowel I don't have to worry about that it is sturdy and has already stood up to my daughter using it in the garden, plus is looks really nice once cleaned up and put away. Still has some shine to it.
